About These Classes
Living the Questions 2 is a revised version of the DVD-based "open-minded" small group study that was so well received at KCC and Emerald Heights last year. We’ll be picking up where we left off in December, covering sessions 11-21 this spring. If you missed the earlier classes, you are still welcome to join us for these sessions. LtQ2 offers an opportunity to explore the best of today’s theological thought and discuss the implications for the future of the Church. Each time we meet, we’ll view a 20-30 minute video which includes sermon clips, comedy/satire, lecture excerpts, and spiritual exercises from some of the best scholars the church has to offer. The video clips and advance reading provide the spark for our conversations. Join us for these stimulating sessions.
Victory and Peace or Justice and Peace?
In four lectures, John Dominic Crossan addresses four primary questions:
  1. What is the character of your God?
  2. What is the content of your faith?
  3. What is the purpose of your prayer?
  4. What is the function of your church?
We’ll spend two sessions viewing and discussing each lecture. In Session 9, we’ll view Crossan’s 50-minute presentation, "Paul: an appealing or appalling apostle?"
Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at De Paul University, John Dominic Crossan is generally acknowledged to be the premier historical Jesus scholar in the world. A Roman Catholic monk for nineteen years and a priest for twelve years, Crossan is a former co-chair of the Jesus Seminar.
