The personnel committee oversees hiring of the paid positions in our Church when required. The group is also responsible for annual performance reviews of Church personnel (Walter John, Ellie Nash, Gale Petersen, Zee and Duke, our custodian). We provide a forum for dialog and feedback about their personal accomplishments over the previous year, as well as their overarching goals for the upcoming year. This is also the time when vacation plans are revealed and arrangements for substitutes are discussed.
Reviews generally take place in early spring. This year, we will meet in the February-April timeframe, since Easter is early this year and working with the scheduled of so many people is challenging. One goal for this year includes reviewing current job descriptions of staff, and formalizing the job description and plotting weekly duties for our custodian.
