Chris
Davis
It is with great joy that we introduce to you Chris Davis, who has accepted the
call to become the Director of Music Ministry at Kirkland Congregational Church.
Chris has brought his musical gifts to several churches, and talked with us
about a strong belief in the ministry of the United Church of Christ. Like many
of us, he has personal background in other churches which are not as
progressive, and articulated to the search committee how he feels his gifts for
music ministry are best suited to an open and progressive congregation like KCC.
And of course, the music ..... during his interview, he played a number
of pieces for the search committee, and his clear skill and ability just lifted
us into an entirely new space. "Wow" would be the concise way of describing it.
Adult Choir meets in the Sanctuary for weekly rehearsals at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings prior to the 10:30 AM
worship service. No audition is required, you do NOT need to know how to read
music, and ALL are welcome. Kirkland Congregational Church has voted to
align itself with the "Progressive Christianity" movement and our music reflects that. Also, with
a goal of providing music for "blended worship," we feature contemporary, traditional, folk and
spiritual songs, hymns and anthems that are singable and tuneful, songs that embrace the United Church of
Christ vision of inclusion, unity and peace while honoring diversity. There are about 15-17 members in Choir
but not everyone can be there all the time, so there is plenty of room for you. We are family; we sing,
laugh and pray together. Come and join us!
