Bystander Training: January 20th from 10am-3pm
Hosted by the Greater Kirkland Ecumenical Parrish (GKEP), Bystander Training is meant to enable people to speak honestly and authentically with each other in order to better learn how to be there for others. The training does not do this in theory; it does it in practice. Led by the Rev. Terri Stewart, this event will provide strategies and real practice in de-escalation, so that participants can more comfortably intercede if they encounter trouble at home or among strangers.
We are asking a $20 donation for the event (to benefit the Youth Chaplaincy Coalition). Payment can be made in cash or with a check on the day of the event. Coffee, tea, and pastries will be provided, but to keep costs low we are asking folks to bring a sack lunch (or plan to walk to a local sandwich shop during the lunch hour). There is a maximum capacity of 30 people for this event.
Room Location: We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall, which is located in the basement of the church. You may enter the Fellowship Hall on the 5th Avenue end of the building (this is an accessible entrance).
Parking: Free parking is available in the church lot on 5th Avenue as well as on the streets surrounding the church.
TO REGISTER: Email Terri Houlahan at email@example.com or call 425.822.3811.
